Project Feature: Victoria Cross

A collaboration with Fiona Lynch Office for Victoria Cross, North Sydney.

Set above North Sydney’s Victoria Cross Metro Station, Victoria Cross is a new commercial precinct designed by Bates Smart, bringing together workplace, retail, hospitality and wellness spaces.

For The Landing, Just Adele collaborated with Fiona Lynch to create and manufacture a series of bespoke plinths for the entrance space.

Part of the collection features a custom Terra Plinth, crafted in solid timber. Reinterpreted at a more substantial scale for the project, the familiar sculptural form takes on a new presence in walnut, allowing the natural depth and variation of the timber to become part of the piece.

Alongside it sits a series of individually designed metal and stone plinths. The refined finishes and bespoke shapes allow the pieces to sit quietly within the architecture while retaining their own sculptural identity.

We have always been drawn to furniture that sits somewhere between the functional and the sculptural, and this project offered an opportunity to explore that idea at an architectural scale. The proportions, material selections and finishes of each piece were developed specifically for the space and in collaboration with Fiona Lynch Office.
